The first of the CadillacV16 cars were produced in the early 1930’s in limited numbers and were custom ordered usually dawning special coachwork. These were the first V16 powered cars to reach production status in the United States, and production continued until 1940.This very early Bill Mitchell inspired 1938 Cadillac convertible V16 features classic coachwork and side mount spares. The twin carb 431cid/185 hp engine runs as good as it did the day if rolled out of the Cadillac plant Although an older restoration, the exterior convertible body is still very straight and the paintwork has held up well. The interior is detailed and immaculate, the burgundy leather seats, door panels and the black canvass top fit snug. The dash instrumentation and knobs are original in appearance, and have a modest aged look to it, thus giving the car some character and a true vintage feel. This 1938 Cadillac is considered a “Full Classic” by the Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA) and would be a fine addition to any collection of fine cars.
